• Built on a Simple Belief

Cheney Serenity Adult Family Home LLC was founded on a belief that seems simple but is surprisingly rare: every adult, regardless of ability or diagnosis, deserves to live in a place that feels like home.

We exist to fill a critical gap in residential care—the need for an environment that is not only safe and structured, but genuinely warm, individualized, and dignified. Not a facility. Not an institution. A true home.

Our goal is not simply to house residents. It is to give them a place where they are known, valued, and supported to live their best lives

  • The Standard We Live By

Our care is guided by a core set of values that shape every interaction, every decision, and every aspect of daily life at Cheney Serenity. These are not aspirational statements—they are the standard by which we operate every single day.

    Compassion

    Dignity

    Person-Centered Support

    Safety and Consistency

    Meaningful engagement

  • Looking Ahead

In 5 to 10 years, success for Cheney Serenity means being recognized as one of the most trusted and respected residential care providers in our community. It means operating a home where:

    • Residents are visibly thriving

    • Families feel genuinely at ease

    • Care teams are proud of the standard they uphold every day

Success looks like measurable progress in residents' well-being, independence, and daily functioning. It looks like strong, lasting partnerships with families, case managers, behavioral clinicians, and healthcare providers who know that Cheney Serenity delivers on its promises.

Most importantly, success means that every resident who has lived in our home has experienced what we set out to provide from the very beginning:

Serenity. Stability. And the dignity of a life well supported.

  • Cheney Serenity is home to adults navigating a range of needs, including:

    • Developmental disabilities

    • Mental health challenges

    • Memory care needs

    • Other medical or neurological conditions such as:

      • Parkinson's disease

      • Stroke recovery

      • Traumatic brain injury

We provide hands-on assistance with daily living while honoring each resident's identity, history, and autonomy. Our care is relationship-based—meaning we don't just meet needs; we build trust, consistency, and genuine connection.

  • The long-term care system often places adults with complex needs in large, impersonal settings where individualized care is difficult to provide. High staff turnover, inconsistent routines, and institutional environments leave residents feeling managed rather than supported. Families struggle to find a placement that truly feels like home.

Cheney Serenity offers a better alternative.

We provide a small, structured, family-centered home where residents receive:

    • Consistent, personalized care

    • Meaningful daily engagement

    • 24-hour supervision in a warm, dignified setting

    Not a facility. A home.

Who We Are

Meet the Founder:

Clinical Expertise + Compassion

Cheney Serenity was founded by an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) with direct clinical experience caring for people with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and other complex needs. That experience is the foundation of everything we do, reinforced by hands‑on work in Adult Family Home settings.

It shaped our approach to quality residential care:

• Consistency

• Structure

• Dignity

• A genuine commitment to the whole person

Every care decision, staffing standard, and resident interaction reflects our belief that compassionate, clinically informed care produces better outcomes and a better quality of life.
